I'm beginning to feel like the creators need to do just that: create. If they continue to rely so heavily on fan opinions, the story will continue to stall because they are too worried about keeping everyone happy. To put little bits and pieces in from fan ideas is nice (the cookies back in the beginning), but to throw in whole sub stories and change the entire feel and plot due to fan ideas is over the top and the main reason the series is dragging.
I think they should get back to what they were doing in the meantime, and stick to some sort of predetermined plot. It seems lately that they have abandoned that idea completley.
Just my opinion, of course. Maybe this is all a predetermined script, but it sure doesn't feel like it. |
If you viewed the "nightline" interview with the creators, they said that storylines they had been working on for a long time were coming to fruition. I, for one, think this has been a long time in the planning. I have thought from day one of OpAphid that it was canon, and I never waivered. |
Actually I was really disapointed to miss it, but I had to work early the next day. Is there any way to see it online? |

I agree. Isn't this what we were expecting and waiting for? The Creators have already stated that there were other characters and vids being directed by other teams and the stories would converge. Why is everyone so shocked by this?
They also said each character would have what amounts to it's own series. You can watch them, or ignore them as you please. Not watching OpAphid should have no impact on someones enjoyment of Bree's adventures. (But watching just might enhance the experience)
The Creators also stated that there are predetermined "Plot Points" but each director makes their own vids within that loosely threaded format.

Wow.. this makes things really different.. so I suppose.. Cassie is more important than Bree let on? This is going to make things a little bit more difficult, I haven't been following the OpAphid videos that closely, I just watched them, listened to them backwards...

| Ok I already know I'm gonna get yelled at for this....but I am so PO'd! I have never watched the OpAphid videos I didn't watch Cassie's and I haven't watched any others but Nikki's. They knocked down so many other spinoffs that I just didn't watch any. It would have been nice to have had a hint that this was going to be a part of the series. You can't really say that you don't have to know about OpAphid to watch bc then there would be no point of merging the stories unless they will be involved with each other. So anyways, I'll probably keep watching till I know for sure, but I just don't have time for all of this. Just these three charachter's were enough for me. I work and go to college full time, and I try to have a life. But I am happy for all those who have kept up with all the story lines. Have fun! |

I am in no way trying to be rude, just want answers. But didn't this all just come out? How could we have KNOWN it was going to happen? This is the first I've head of other story lines coming in except for fan vids. I for one am extremely shocked that they would exclude so many viewers by doing such a thing. |

well, for one thing, the opaphid videos and tachyon videos give credit to musicians. for me, that was a HUGE sign.
and you don't have to do the work if you don't want to. just read what other people discover. i have no interest in dissolving my brain by working out numbers and equations either, trust me.
and don't worry, i didn't take any offense.  |

| There is NO story to OpAphid, its just solve puzzles, solve more puzzles, it isn't like you can just sit back and watch Op, cause there isn't anything to watch. |

I understand all of that. I guess I'm just weird, I would have liked to have been there from the beginning. I need to know everything about it before I can start and there's just WAY to much stuff to review. I think my days are done here. I had fun though.  |

I apologize for my assumptions. I have a habit of reading EVERYTHING and sometimes assume that everyone else does too. (I have a voracious appetite for information. Research is like a hobby to me - I'm kinda freaky that way)
The information was made available through the article with "Wired" magazine. There's a link in the forums under "LG15 in the media". And many have suspected for some time that there are related stories taking place. Part of the fun is in finding and indentifying them.

Do you know what? Honestly I'm loving the connection. No, I'm not totally up on all the OpAphid stuff, I never payed attention to it before, but yesterday looking at it, I knew it'd be canon because of the quality, credit, it was on revver, and the way it was filmed all just seem to fit in. It shouldn't take long to catch up on guys, nothing worth leaving over. If you don't want to work out the puzzles, then don't, but it's easy enough to watch while other people do and keep up . That's what I'll probably do, I'm not so good at puzzles
