In Proving Longitude Wrong Bree mentions the deacons of her religion for the first time. It is unclear how they are related to The Elders of her Bree's religion.

According to Wikipedia a decon is a role in the Christian Church which is generally associated with service of some kind. This is the first indication we have had that Bree might be a Christian of some kind.

There is likely to be a connection between "The Deacons" and "The Elders" but the story line has not yet clarified that issue.
