Transcript

(A shot of Jonas sitting outside in front of a brick wall.)

Jonas: I made a big mistake.

(Skips to a clip of Jonas chasing the Watcher.)

Jonas: Wait! Hey! Hey, wait! What are you talking about? Hey!

(The Watcher finally stops.)

Jonas: What are you talking about? Wh-

Watcher: Here.

(The Watcher hands Jonas a loaded gun. Skips to Jonas following the Watcher into one of the abandoned buildings.)

Jonas: Why can't I trust Claire? How do you know that? If you don't start explaining, I'm gonna have to-

Watcher: Gonna have to what?

Jonas: Listen, I'm sorry. Please just tell me what's going on.

Watcher: (shining a flashlight towards the camera) Jonas, you screwed up. That's what's going on.

Jonas: Could you lower that?

(The Watcher lowers the beam and begins searching the room.)

Watcher: You let your ego get in the way. You thought you found the almighty answer to bringing down the Order? Jonas, you were just a pawn.

Jonas: What? Listen, will you just talk to me?

(Jonas makes a grab for the Watcher's shoulder, which is promptly deflected by twisting Jonas's arm by the wrist.)

Jonas: Ahhh! Ahh! Okay, okay.

Watcher: Jonas, you're weak.

(The Watcher releases Jonas and begins to walk away.)

Watcher: They took your grief and used it against you.

Jonas: What do you- Who? Who? La Rezisto? They're not.. They're not real, is that what you're trying to tell me? They're-

Watcher: It's a sham. Powers?

Jonas: So.. So wait a minute, Emma doesn't have powers. Emma.. You.. How do you know this? Well, what about Emma? Do you know where we can find her? Claire? Do you know where they went?

Watcher: I'm trying to find them.

(Jonas pursues the Watcher as he continues to search the buildings.)

Jonas: (voice-over) I am so sorry.

(The dialogue begins to switch back and forth between the Watcher and Jonas. The Watcher is located in a dark room, while Jonas is outside in front of the brick wall.)

Jonas: Emma. I'm so sorry..

Watcher: Look, there's conflict within the Order. There are those who choose to honor the rules and principles which it is founded upon and those who do not.

Jonas: I just don't know what I'm doing anymore. What am I doing?

Watcher: The Order treats special girls like Bree and Emma with honor, with dignity.

Jonas: (to Watcher) Honor and dignity!? Not, that's not what I would-

Watcher: Listen!

Jonas: I led you right into that. I.. And.. Anybody could see that that was bogus. Super power?

Watcher: These elders' lives are dependent upon these girls. And just like everyone else, they have to follow the rules, wait their turn. But sometimes, the wait is too long.

Jonas: I just wanted to believe it so bad.. And I'm sorry.

Watcher: There seems to be an Elder who values his life over all the other elders'.

Jonas: The thing is I don't know what to do. I am fresh out of plans.

Watcher: He's tried this before. He tried to kidnap Bree and now, he's kidnapped Emma. Remember Vegas?

Jonas: (to Watcher) That wasn't the Order?

Watcher: No..

Jonas: I don't know what to do. I guess find this Elder, this rogue Elder. I.. Well, I guess if I could find him, I could find Emma. The thing is I can't.. This is really hard for me to do. I'm just so guilty. I'm so guilty and I can't let it go.

Watcher: Look, there's nothing here that's gonna help me find Emma. I need to go.

Jonas: (to Watcher) What? Hey, let me come with you-

Watcher: No, Jonas, you've done enough damage. Go home.

(The camera follows the Watcher's depature and the scene finally settles completely on Jonas outside.)

Jonas: I can't forgive myself for what I've done. I don't know how to.. I don't know how to make it, uhh, better. I don't know how to make it any better. The Watcher said go home. He said go home, so maybe that means I have to go back to my old house and just.. Maybe that box that I got from the cabin, that.. Th-The Resistance box. Maybe there's an answer in there. I'm gonna find you, Emma. I'm gonna find you. I promise.

Notes

  • While Jonas follows the Watcher as he searches through the buildings, several things come into focus. The first is a picture of what appears to be a church with some sort of demonic creature hovering over it. The second is the ceiling covered in music sheets for "Wisteria." The final is a wall that reads, "Here is where behaviorism is most often assaulted in debate."
