Jonas: We're still here. We are still in the Grand Canyon. Did you hear me?? (yells) We're still in the Grand Canyon! We're still here! (laughs) We're still here. And we're not afraid of you. I can't believe I can say that, but we are not afraid of you. I don't... I don't know what happened on Friday. I have no idea. But something... something happened. Emma did somethin. (long pause) I think. All I know is we were surrounded and she jumped on one of those guys. He hit the ground really hard and I pulled her off. He was dead. Lifeless. Without a wound, not a mark. Nothing. He was just dead. And I know, I went back and I checked. So... (sits) I don't know what happened. I don't even know exactly how it happened, or how he died, but I will tell you this. It was because Emma touched him. I'm convinced of it. And if it can happen once, then it can happen again. They took their little helicopters and they flew away, and we haven't seen not one sign of the Order all weekend. Not one sign! Tell me guys, where are ya? Where are ya? Ya scared? Are you afraid of us? Well you should be. Cause for the first time, I feel like we've got more than time on our side. We have my sister.
(Jonas holds up the Order member's broken sunglasses, one lens missing. He throws it down and stomps it.)
Notes
- The title is undoubtedly a reference to the first Star Wars movie, which was originally released as simply "Star Wars" in 1977, and then retitled to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope the following year.
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Opening Crawl :
A NEW HOPE It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.
- According to Dr. Griffin of KateModern in a video uploaded the same day, trait positive girls possess some kind of special power. It is believed that Emma has this same power, and that this is what killed the Shadow/Watcher.
- Some believe that the series will "jump the shark" if Jonas is right and characters now have supernatural powers and abilities.
- Some fans have speculated that Emma's powers were developed while she was learning to sing her own song with the Hymn of One--Nothing More, Nothing Less.
- In an earlier video, Alex mentioned that Shadows use various hormones to increase their strength. However, she also mentioned that these hormones decrease the lifespan of Shadows (they usually die at a young age). This factor, in addition to the shock of Emma's attack, may have contributed to the death of the man (if he was indeed a Shadow).
