Hey Owen

Thanks for all the good edits. It's always refreshing to have another good editor on the LGpedia. Big thanks for the heads up about the Phorum 3 -- so weird that such a random page would get hit.--JayHenry 11:20, 1 December 2006 (CST)

Thanks for your help on the vandalism stuff. To tell you the truth, when I see spam vandalism by an unregistered user, I check their contribution history, and if it's the first time they've put in an edit, I assume it's probably a post-and-run spammer who won't be back and don't bother giving them a warning. I don't think anything's likely to happen beyond a warning unless they are a repeat offender. If they are a genuine troublemaker, they'd probably get blocked from editing. --Brucker 12:39, 1 December 2006 (CST)

Thanks for the compliment Owen i appreciate it :D. I just happened to notice that this music listing was created here in the LGpedia so i thought i would give it a shot. It took me a second to understand the coding format deal (which i noticed somebody revised haha) but i think i got it now. For a while i have been keeping a pretty thorough listing in the Music section on the forums. Just thought i would throw anything in that i noticed here. There are still a bunch of tracks i haven't found and unknowns in the music which i wish the Creators would clear up but i will keep at it for rizzle. --Livelongandprosper77 5:03p.m., 24 January 2007 (CST)

Oh yeah i didn't give ya a link to my masterpiece lol. http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=701&start=7

There ya go use it anyway ya want i is here to help :D. Lol i need to hang out in LGpedia more because i totally had no idea a soundtrack section had started here till yesterday. --Livelongandprosper77 5:24p.m., 24 January 2007 (CST)

Hello, I was just wondering about the LL page? Is it suitable now? And if not, the GC page is very nice. - User Crowcity

A word about templates

I like the fact that you edited all the userboxes into a category, but in the future, keep in mind that those extra line breaks that appear outside of the <noinclude> tags will show up on the pages where the template is used. --Brucker 14:20, 4 December 2006 (CST)

Don't worry too much about it, the wiki is new, even the admins are on a bit of a learning curve. The above was just an FYI. --Brucker 11:04, 5 December 2006 (CST)

cite.php

read your to-do list item about cite.php -- TWJaniak has that on his to-do list. I think he's a little swamped right now as it appears JSmith has left the LGPedia web staff.--JayHenry 13:59, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Awesome, thanks for noticing and letting me know! Naturally, it's not an urgent thing, so I understand he has other stuff to worry about right now. I'll keep a lookout for when this is available, thx! OwenIsCool 14:22, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Cite.php

I tried adding Cite.php to the LGpedia a few weeks ago. I downloaded, installed and configured all the necessary files on the server, but when I went live with the changes, the LGpedia crashed and burned. I don't know what went wrong, but I plan on trying again in the next few days. I feel a functional citation system has become a necessity. -- Twjaniak 22:28, 12 December 2006 (CST)

UPDATE: The Cite.php extension has been added. Now you you can make footnotes to your heart's content! -- Twjaniak 14:33, 13 December 2006 (CST)
Thank you! I saw you told JayHenry that you had to upgrade the whole 'pedia. Wow... can't have been a snap, thanks for making it happen! I shall faithfully implement citations now. OwenIsCool 19:37, 13 December 2006 (CST)

Kool Twj, you should do Lgpedia more ofton when u can that is...--Iris2009 14:42, 13 December 2006 (CST)

Links to Music page

Hi Todd, LG15 Soundtrack is up-to-date! Now that the "soundtrack" page is built, I'm not sure what's the best way to deal with the music information contained in the various blog articles. Some include links to the artists' LGPedia page, which redirects to the LG15 music page. Others have external links to their band webpages. Some have these links within the template and others have it embedded in the transcript. To keep things consistent and direct everyone to the LG15 Soundtrack as much as possible (because it often more complete info on links for listening to the songs and to the bands' pages), I was thinking perhaps a minor change could be made to the Blog3 template. Just as typing in Bree Phone Home as the next video would produce Bree Phone Home automatically, I thought perhaps we could have it so that "The tale of room 620 by Ehren Starks" would automatically show The tale of room 620 by Ehren Starks (linking to LG15 Soundtrack). I don't know much about templates, but from what I see, it looks like this:

! Music {{!}} {{{song}}} |}}

could be replaced with something along the lines of:

! Music {{#if: {{{Music|}}} | "[[{{{LG15 Soundtrack|Music}}}]]" | none}}

I'm not sure if I got that right, but I hope it conveyed the message. I saw you made the majority of edits to Blog3, so I thought it'd be best to let you take care of any changes made to it (esp since they affect so many pages!). If you like the change and want to implement it, I'd have no problem going through the blog articles to make sure it's being used correctly in all of them.

This can't actually be done without a major change to the template and edits to all of the documents that have used Blog3 so far. Instead you can do what I have done with the entry for the song of the latest video and the LG15 Soundtrack page. A <div> tag needs to encapsulate the name of the song on the soundtrack page to act as an anchor for the link from the video's page. Refer to the source code for both the song entry on Bree Phone Home and the corresponding entry on the soundtrack page for an example of how this should be formatted. Do NOT use spaces in the anchor's name; instead uses underscores and remember that link and anchor names are case-sensitive. -- Twjaniak 09:38, 19 December 2006 (CST)

Where is OIC?

If you don't come back and start editing again I'm honestly going to cry.--JayHenry 12:30, 10 January 2007 (CST)

OIC! I'm so glad you're back! Yay!! Could you send me a PM or e-mail? You can e-mail me through thd Wiki or I'm JayHank at the forum (I have no clue who, if anyone, you are over there). Oh, and p.s. Kenneth Goodfried is Greg Goodfried's father. I need to add a page on him!--JayHenry 22:34, 14 January 2007 (CST)
Okay, well, no need to PM. OIC, would you be interested in being an admin? It's silly for you to always have to ask Brucker and I to delete nonsense pages or ask us to block vandals. You've proven you're a good, trustworthy editor. What do you say?--JayHenry 16:39, 15 January 2007 (CST)
Hi JayHenry,
Sorry I didn't PM you earlier! Got caught up editing as usual =) I'm honored by your suggestion and would love to give it a try!
Disclaimer: I still have a lot to learn... but so far you and Brucker have been a great help so no doubt I'll be able to get the hang of it.
Best,
OwenIsCool 17:24, 15 January 2007 (CST)
You're an admin now. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility.--JayHenry 18:59, 15 January 2007 (CST)
Ms Kelly would be proud! --LordGreystoke422 20:18, 15 January 2007 (CST)
I'll try to be as honorable as Spiderman, thx Jay! OwenIsCool 20:20, 15 January 2007 (CST)
