Transcript

(Charlie is in the back of a van.)

Driver: So you on the Australia flight, were ya?

Charlie: Yeah.

Driver: Australia, eh? What you doing back here? You must be mad, sweetheart! Look at the state of the weather! It's summer out there, innit?

Charlie: Yeah, 40 degrees over there.

Driver: 40? Strewth! So what was you doing out there, then?

Charlie: I'm from there.

Driver: Oh, visiting family, was ya?

Charlie: Yeah, something like that.

Driver: I'll bet you had a few barbies while you was out there, didn't ya? You lot bloody love a barbeque, don't you?

Charlie: Yeah, I guess we do.

Driver: "Throw another shrimp on the barbie!" (Laughs.) Eh?

Charlie: Um... yeah...

(The cab passes a police officer, standing near a roped off section of road.)

Charlie: Just here, thanks.

Driver: Here we are. (The camera pans down to show a bouquet of roses sitting on top of Charlie's bag as the driver stops the van.) That's £58.40, please.

(Charlie hands cash to the driver.)

Charlie: (Sniffs.) Thanks.

Driver: Thanks very much.

Charlie: Oh, you can keep the change.

Driver: Geez! Thank you!

(Charlie gets out of the van, grabbing her bag and the flowers.)

Driver: You be careful 'round here. You know some girl got killed over the weekend?

Charlie: Yeah, I heard... Thanks.

(Charlie closes the van door and walks toward the police officer. Sniffling, she lays the roses on the ground and begins to cry.)

Notes

  • It doesn't seem that Charlie has Kim with her.
