Anne: I'm really upset right now. Peter and I were supposed to bake cookies. I've been planning it for two weeks. I hoarded our sugar and butter rations and everything. See, I was really sick the other day, so I couldn't peel potatoes so Peter had to do it for me, and to make up for it, I planned this baking thing. I- I looked up a recipe that we could use with our limited supplies, and I skipped meals for weeks and- Peter came to my room around seven. And then, my parents said we couldn't bake the cookies. I think- I think I'm a pretty decent person. I mean, I understand that we're in hiding, and that I can't do the same things that normal kids can do. So, I don;t know if Peter's going to be allowed to come and study with me for a while, so... (Shrugs, cut to black, then cut back to Anne.) It's just me and Bethany, hanging out. (Points at Bethany) You're my only friend.
