The rise of world wide web has given rises to many new quesetions that have not been completely resolved in the courts.  Wikis such a Wikipedia use All the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GNU_Free_Documentation_License GNU Free Documentation License].  However, it has not been  stated what polices are in effect for LGpedia.  It is possible that some right may remain with the original author, the web site owner or [[the Creators]] (if they are different from the web site owner. The videos themselves do contain some kind of copyprotection when downloaded from Revver however there is not clear copyright notice making it possible that the videos released to date are public domain and free for others to use in their creative efforts.  If the videos are in fact copyrighted then it would mean that use or modification by other YouTubers etc would be illegal since it would be hard to justify under the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use fair use doctrine].  The situation is much less clear with screen shots which use a much more limited amount of the source content.  Many fan sits used screen shots for source material and to date this issues has not been challenged in the courts so we do no have any legal guidelines as to whether or not a screen shot is legal or illegal.  The situation would be somewhat  simpler if in fact the [[LG15 website]] is owned entirely by [[the Creators]] but this has not been publicly stated.  It should also be noted that the legality of certain issues will vary from country to country.

The LGPedia is what you're reading right now. It is a wikipedia-styled encyclopedia that documents everything within the LG15 Universe which anyone can edit. The LGPedia was set up by the Creators of lonelygirl15 to give the fan community a place to collect information about the projects.

How do I get started?

If you haven't already, we encourage you to create an account. It's fast, easy and free. If you need help learning to edit, check out our help page. If you're already familiar with wikis, and are looking for ways to contribute, check out the Community Portal. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask one of the LGPedia administrators: Zoey, Jonpro, or Phoenician.

How do I talk to another LGPedia user?

LGPedians can discuss topics by using the user talk feature of the wiki. To comment on a specific article just click on the "Discussion" icon in the header and leave your comment. Sign comments on talk pages by typing ~~~~ at the end of your comment. This will automatically leave your name and the time of your comment.

Who controls LGPedia?

LGPedia is a wiki and hence community based. Since the wiki is hosted at lg15.com, a site owned by the Creators of lonelygirl15, they do have final say on any issue at the wiki. In the past, the Creators have taken a mostly passive role, occasionally making requests such as including production credits on videos or requesting creation of The Story So Far... article.

Generally issues at the wiki are settled by consensus. The LGPedia does, however, have a small crew of administrators:

What plaform does LGPedia use?

The LGPedia uses MediaWiki software.

How do I create a user page?

Editors of the wiki are encouraged to create profile pages. At the top of the page you'll see your name. By clicking on this, you can edit your personal profile page. Userboxes are a popular way to signal your interests at the wiki. Check out the userboxes at the LGPedia.
