Dr Hart: I just watched Daniel's video and I know a lot of you are still trying to figure out who Gina is. My Gina. So why don't I just tell you? Gina was not a patient in the Hart Study. Gina was the control. Like Emma, Gina was born a true trait positive... a one in ten million girl. From the very beginning, Verdus' project, my job, was to make more Ginas. She was my goal, my purpose, my muse. Don't you see... the Hart study was an effort to replicate the unique ribozyme in Gina's blood. But the Hart study failed. All of the genetically modified girls died and everybody at Verdus stopped believing in me. Eventually my boss, Verdus' sponsor, said he would be forced to use Gina for himself, for the Ceremony. I couldn't replicate Gina, therefore Gina must die.
(Dr. Hart takes a pill)
And that's why I struck a deal. Emma for Gina. At first I tried to find Emma but she was hiding with her parents. Nobody could find her, not even you guys. But then I tracked down the one person I knew wanted to find Emma as much as I did: Jonas. And he did all the work for me.
