Transcript

(Julia and Gavin are running through the streets.)

Gavin: You sure this is the way?

Julia: What? I was following you.

(Gavin and Julia race across an intersection at the stripes. Lee stops and zooms in on Edinburgh Castle nearby.)

Lee: Ah, isn't that lovely?

Gavin: Lee! Lee, come on, you tool! Come on!

(Gavin crosses back over the intersection and grabs Lee. Cut to Gavin and Julia running near the Parliament House and down a flight of stairs. Cut to Lee looking at the sidewalk as they run along; a bagpipe player can be heard in the background.)

Lee: Oh! Look, look, look! This- Oh, I read about this one! This is called "The Heart of MidLothian". Apparently it's really good luck if you spit on it. And look, you can see other people's gobs all over it.

(Lee begins to work up a spit ball as Gavin grabs him.)

Gavin: I swear, if I have to come get you one more time...

(Cut to Gavin and Julia running up a flight of stairs. The run down an alley covered in grafitti, and the bagpipes get louder.)

Julia: Careful.

(They come out at Holyrood Abbey. Cut to the bagpipe player. Lee pans the camera to show Julia trying to get directions from someone nearby.)

Julia: Yeah, okay, good. Great. Come! (Motions for Gavin and Lee to follow her.)

Gavin: Sure, come on!

(Gavin and Julia run down another street and spot Charlie's Aygo.)

Gavin: There!

Julia: Over here, Gav! (Julia is standing in front of another alley.) Come on, both of you!

Lee: I hope you know what you're doing.

Gavin: Shutup, Lee.

(They go into a building, and up a flight of stairs. They enter a brightly lit room, with a blue curtain covering a stage toward the back, and the music from Kate's video Abstract Heart can be heard. Julia motions for Lee to follow, and Gavin motions for him to be quiet. Gav removes his coat, and he and Julia go to the side of the curtain. Lee goes through the middle opening and finds Charlie watching a display of Kate's videos, crying. Michelle Clore enters from behind the stage.)

Michelle: Didn't expect to see you here.

(The camera pans to Charlie.)

Charlie: Why are you doing this?

Michelle: I wanted to share Kate's work with an audience as a tribute to her.

Charlie: A tribute? What, after you killed her?

Michelle: Charlie, please.

Charlie: It all makes perfect sense. Who had the most to lose from Kate telling people what she saw when she was with you? You! And who was most interested in getting the list to find the girls for use at the Ceremony? That'd be you again!

Michelle: Charlie, please. Whatever you think, it's just not possible. I was away on Adak Island from the second of January on an artistic retreat.

Charlie: Convenient. I'm supposed to believe you, am I?

Michelle: You don't have to. There are plenty of people who can tell you where I was: the staff at Heathrow who gave my jet clearance for takeoff, not to mention the videos I made while I was on the island. I asked Kate to come with me, but, as you know, she was very pre-occupied at the time. It's a brutal waste of a fragile mentality. Upsets me, too.

Charlie: Don't! I don't want your sympathy.

Michelle: Charlie, I understand how you feel, but I really think you should move on. And I don't think that filming your every move and posting it on the internet is very healthy.

Charlie: Thanks. So nice to know that you care.

Michelle: Fair enough. (Looks over to the corner of the stage.) I think you can come out now.

(Lee swings the camera over to show Gavin and Julia coming out from behind the curtain.)

Michelle: I think I've had about enough of your spying on me, don't you?

Gavin: Are you okay, Charlie?

Michelle: Hello.

Gavin: Hi.

Michelle: Enjoying your freedom?

Gavin: What?

Michelle: You must realise it's because of me that you're free.

Gavin: Yeah, of course I do.

Michelle: Don't worry, I don't want anything in return. It's not as sinister as you seem to think, I- I thought you had lost your way and you were forced into doing what you did. Our religion preaches forgiveness, Gavin. We refused to press charges against you for running into our place of worship on New Year's Eve with guns.

Gavin: Yeah, alright. Well, um, yeah, thanks.

Michelle: You were led astray then. But I urge you, Gavin, and the rest of your friends, move on with your lives. It's really the only way to get over what's happened.

Gavin: Sorry. Is this Springer's final thought?

(Michelle laughs and her Shadow appears, glaring at the camera.)

Lee: Oh god.

Julia: I think we should go now.

Gavin: Yeah. (Reaches for Charlie's arm.) Come on, Charlie. (Gavin pulls Charlie after Julia off the stage.) Come on. Come on, Lee.

Michelle: Oh, Charlie, if you really are set on playing detective, may I suggest you ask your groupie friend Steve where he was the night Kate was murdered?

Charlie: What? (Charlie goes back onto the stage and Michelle and her Shadow are gone.) What?

(Gavin goes to the exit Michelle had come in from and tries to open it. Charlie tries to open a side door.)

Gavin: Let's get out of here. Come on. (They all leave the stage and head toward the door of the room.) Is it just me, or does anyone else think that's what it'd be like if Andy Warhol was a Bond villain?

Julia: (Laughs.) Come on.

Gavin: Come on.

Lee: Who's Andy Warhol?

(Gavin shakes his head at Lee as they leave.)

Notes

  • This video confirms that Michelle Clore was responsible for Gavin being let out of prison.
  • This video suggests that Steve was responsible for Kate's death
  • This is Lee's first video since the software was lost.
  • The island Michelle claims to have been on during the time in question sounds like "Ardak Island", but no reference of this island can be found anywhere online. It is possible that she meant and/or said Adak Island instead.
    • The size of either Adak Island or some unlisted island makes it rather unlikely that Michelle would have been able to take a jet to the island. Typically, a jet would be flown to the nearest airport and then a smaller personal plane would be taken to the island.
