Infested is the two-hundred thirty-third webisode in the KateModern video series. It is also the seventy-eighth video of season two.

Transcript

(Charlie is in her room with the night vision on. She opens her door and pans down to the food Lee left in front of her door. Cut to Charlie walking out to the main room. She turns and pans down to the floor as a light scratching noise can be heard. She pans up to show Lee sleeping on the couch. Cut to a shot of the coffee table covered in half-eaten sweets and then to Lee's Scouting for Girls shirt, as scratching noises are heard. Cut to Lee sleeping on the couch, snuggling a Ratatouille plushie and then to Lauren sleeping on the other couch. Charlie turns the camera on herself, looking around as the scratching noises continue.)

Charlie: (Sighs.) Oh, Lee...

(Cut to Charlie sitting in her room.)

Charlie: I guess I'm the host body and I've been infested. (Shakes her head.) Not Lauren and Lee; mice. (Looks around, disgusted.) Actual mice. At least I hope it's mice. You know, after all the madness with Terrence and the Order, I didn't think it'd be vermin that'd drive me over the edge. They're driving me absolutely batty, scratching under the floor boards. If it wasn't for them, I'd be sleeping like a baby otherwise.

(Charlie pans the camera down to the plate of sweets that had been left in front of her room and picks up the sandwich from it.)

Happy food sanga? No? Suit yourself. (Takes a bite out of the sandwich.)

So... Steve. (Sighs.) Renouncing his religion and experiencing new things. (Shakes her head.) And Julia with Rupert. Now, I'm... I'm still... not sure why they kept it so quiet. I thought she was helping me with the list. I guess it's best to leave the both of them by themselves. I haven't heard from Gav.

Hey, Gav. Hope everything's going well for you up in Manchester. Say "hi" to Auntie Joan for me. And I take it that you've already met my new flatmates. (Smiles.) To be honest with you, I thought they were going to turn me into some older sister. You know, cleaning up after all of them? But it's actually been really nice. They're kind of mothering me. (Smiles and shakes her head.)

We've got Lauren on a course at the moment to stabilize her blood. I can't go into too much detail, but we've tracked someone down that can help her out for the time being; just until we find someone more permanent. As for the girls on the list? I don't think there are any more out there, but just in case... if there are, please get in touch.

I've tried to explain it to Lauren. I just want to forget about the Order. There's nothing to gain by trying to seek revenge on them, even for the sake of her sister. I just think she's got to let it go for her own sanity.

(Charlie shakes her head and pans down to the sandwich in her hand.)

This coming from someone who's eating happy food sangas... God, Charlie... (Laughs.) I think we'll be okay. (Takes another bite out of the sandwich.)

Notes

• Though this video is obviously a blog by Charlie, it was uploaded by and given its description by Sophie.
• A Ratatouille plushie was last seen with Julia. It is possible that the one Lee is seen snuggling is the same one.
• The sandwich Lee had made for Charlie in Happy Food had a ketchup smile on it, but it is clearly gone when Charlie takes a bite out of it.
