It’s Not Your Decision is the fifty-ninth video in the lonelygirl15 video series. This video is correctly called "It’s Not Your Decision", with a punctuation apostrophe (right single quotation mark) instead of a typewriter apostrophe - it resides here for easier accessibility. Gemma gives Bree some advice.
Gemma: Bree, I don't think you're taking this seriously enough. It doesn't matter if you've made the decision not to be in the ceremony. It's not your decision to make. They are in charge. To be honest, it hasn't been easy for me to be here. Even though I wasn't picked for the ceremony like you were, it's still difficult for me to be independent. I've known since I was a little girl that one day, I would leave. I've always had misgivings about that place. You know, when I was thirteen or so, I liked this boy, and, um...he was from the town just adjacent to our commune. His name was Sam, and his parents owned a petrol station. One day my mum read my diary and saw his name in it. She knew he and his parents didn't subscribe to our way of thinking, I was told I was never to see him again. I argued with my parents, but it didn't matter. We used a different petrol station from then on. Look, I understand it's hard to know who to trust. I know that. It's your decision, I just hope you'll listen to some of the things I'm saying.
- While this is the third video by Gemma, it is the first to be included officially in the lg15 series.
- Since Gemma is supposed to live in London, the producers actually posted this video at a time that someone in England would be up and awake, not when an American would be.
- The title of the video is "It's Not Your Decision" but at the end of the video, Gemma tells Bree that it is her decision. This is often misconstrued as a contradiction. However, Gemma may be saying that it IS up to Bree to try and defy the Order, however it is not her decision as the Order are more powerful that she thinks.
- Jackie Jandrell's accent slips in the word 'are' in the sentence "They are in charge".
