The Resistance said:

The fountain of youth is real. It's in the blood of innocent girls scattered across the world. They're hunted, murdered, sucked dry of their precious lifesblood. We are The Resistance. We fight to protect and save these girls.

At one time, our only obstacle was an evil cabal known as the Order, that disguised itself in the form of the innocuous cult the Hymn of One. But now, the threats come from everywhere, evil corporations, deranged scientists, and even the ones we love. No one can be trusted. They must be saved.

We've begun to fight our enemies, exposing their lies, attacking them where they live. Our army grows every day, our arms outstretched, and our weapons drawn.

In September we will launch a full frontal attack. No longer shall we hide in the shadows, or run scared like children. We will document and record our war, and you can be a part of it.

It is time to enlist. Sign up and join the battle. When it is time, you will be notified.

Sarah's New Life: A Play in One Act

[Curtain opens on a small room inside a bland chain hotel. It is dark and quiet… Until SARAH (not a day over 17) enters. She illuminates the scene with her stunning presence.]

Sarah: Where did everyone go?

Sarah: I said, where did everyone go?!
Beige Wall: Probably to a great big party you're not invited to.
Sarah: Woah, you're a hotel room wall! You're not supposed to talk!
Beige Wall: I'm not. But you've gotten so bored this last week that I've gradually become your best friend.
Sarah: My lord, that's sad.
Beige Wall: I resent that.
Sarah: I resent you.
Beige Wall: Fine. This friendship is over.
Sarah: But it wasn't even real to begin with!
Beige Wall: Whatevs.

[Silence. ]

[Sarah sits on the bed and crosses her arms. She is angry and alone. Until she picks up the remote and turns on the television. New episodes of Project Runway make her totally happy… for a little while].

Something's going on here. Just cause I'm in hiding doesn't mean I'm not watching. Between that Crowley auction, this Hymn of None weirdo, and these LifesBlood smarty-pants, you know trouble's brewing. So naturally, I want in.

And no, jerk, not to do evil stuff. I want to help. You could call it redemption if you want to, but personally I don't think I need to redeem myself any further. The proof's been documented. I was on that boat too. I risked my life to get my friend in and out of there safely. And what do I get in return? Solitary.

Well, that's not good enough. Not after what I've lost. I'm through giving a crap what people think of me. I'm doing this because I want to. If there truly is a Resistance coming, sign me up. I mean, I've already been pegged as a "disciple," right?

(Though I have to admit, 'disciple's a strong term. Sounds a litttttttttle fanatical. And 'follower' makes me sound like sheep. Let's say supporter. Or better yet, her royal supporter -- though I guess anything's better than 'sidekick'.)

It's time I come up for air anyway. I'm sick of being on the run. Sick of getting the stink eye on the boards. It's clear to me now that no matter how much I write or type or argue, I'm not going to win. It's my actions that are going to count.

You guys want to call me out, so be it. Just don't be surprised when I call back.
