Blogger

I hate to bring up an old debate, but I made Jonas the blogger for this one. If anyone disagrees, feel free to explain why.--Jonpro 20:16, 20 February 2007 (CST)

I think it's Jonas too, but I left it blank for a bit in case others didn't agree. -- tai 20:23, 20 February 2007 (CST)
Please bring up this debate because strongly I disagree. I really would like to keep objecting to the identification of the blogger of a video based on whose video it feels like. Valentine's Day Massacre was posted to the jonastko YouTube account, so that one is Jonas's video. This one was posted to the lonelygirl15 account, so it's Bree's. The only exception to this rule of thumb that I feel inclined to agree with is the video The Unthinkable Happened, because the description of the video on YouTube says that it's Daniel posting on Bree's account. --Brucker 12:15, 21 February 2007 (CST)
I don't really care who we say is the blogger to this one, but I'd like to point out that the creators did say that they will be posting all videos on YouTube to the lonelygirl15 account because of its dramatically higher subscriber base, and that this is no longer meaningful that they're using her account [1]. I think that, basically, we can no longer use the YouTube account to make this decision.--JayHenry 12:22, 21 February 2007 (CST)
But that's my point in bringing up Valentine's Day Massacre; it was posted after the creators made that claim! I think the creators were referring to the Revver account, not the YouTube accounts. The claim that all videos would be posted to Bree's account was made at the time Miss Me? came out, but since then, both the jonastko and danielbeast accounts on YouTube have had videos posted on them (Valentine's Day Massacre and Drinking Problems, respectively). I really think the creators were talking about how only Revver videos posted to Bree's account can be shown the proper way on the lonelygirl15.com main page. Both Jonas and Gemma have videos in their Revver accounts from before they were affirmed to be canon, and those videos are not to be found on the left sidebar of the main page, but the right sidebar. Are you following me? I still think YouTube is the standard for determining who the blogger is, and it shows because the accounts are still active. I'd wager money that the next OpAphid video will actually be posted to the OpAphid YouTube account, but only on lonelygirl15 on Revver. --Brucker 12:32, 21 February 2007 (CST)
Unless somebody has something to say in response to this, I am going to take the silence as assent and change the blogger to Bree on this one tomorrow morning. I may even change a few others that don't line up with YouTube's accounting. So there! : P --Brucker 20:14, 21 February 2007 (CST)
I think this one is totally ambiguous, so fine by me if you change it. It would even be good to change the Miss Me one since the Op template doesn't work with it (it should nevertheless be linked to from Lose Something, though). However, I still don't think the YouTube blogger criterion should be a hard and fast rule... OwenIsCool 20:17, 21 February 2007 (CST)
No, they've all been posted to the same Revver account for months now. The post from the Creators is extremely clear:
4) In the upcoming weeks we will be migrating all YouTube videos to the LG15 account on YouTube.
YouTube will no longer be "part of the Breeniverse" from a suspension of disbelief standpoint.
Meaning, post times etc. are not relevant to the story. ALL plot relevance will be found on our
website (who posts, when they post, etc.).
It's no longer a useful yardstick. The decision has to be based off other criteria from now on.--JayHenry 21:28, 21 February 2007 (CST)
What the hell? That deosn't make any sense! "who posts" indeed! there is no indication given on the main site as to who is posting a video, that's why we keep having this debate! Grrr... getting peeved at the creators again... --Brucker 12:35, 22 February 2007 (CST)
Yep, sucks don't it? Just as we had our pretty little init template and categories w blogs by character, curveball. I think the description + the speaking roles are all that's left to judge who blogs. And the more we see the three of them in any one blog, the less those speaking roles even matter. Maybe we can make them tell us in the description. By force. or empty threats. like this one. I'm pooped today. OwenIsCool 14:13, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Grammar & Punctuation

Okay, feel free to thump me. New here, and I'm having a heckuva time just figuring out the how-the-heck does the wiki work (hey, it ain't html, and my head's been spinning since I slid under the door), but until I can't get a good handle on the toolbox, I'm darned good at typing up transcripts when I get to 'em first, and I'm better than good at sitting in the proofread/copyedit chair (I just fixed a few minor little punctuation and grammar quibbles here, and if you'd like to point me any ol' place to pound one while I'm learning the ropes (and to any ol' rope you'd like me to learn on (preferably one without a noose on the end <weak smile>), I'm up for it...just let me know... -- Chershaytoute 21:25, 20 February 2007 (CST)

Hey Chersaytoute, welcome and thanks for pitching in! The LGPedia:Sandbox is a good place to try stuff out; that's exactly what it's for. Also check out Help:Editing to get a grasp of the basics. If you have any specific questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Happy editing! OwenIsCool 21:39, 20 February 2007 (CST)
I'd like to point new contributors to LGPedia:General style guide, and I'd also like to ask long-time users to add to that page as they see fit and perhaps find a way to incorporate it into our newbie info. --Brucker 12:24, 21 February 2007 (CST)

...three consecutive videos...

At first, I thought the note about this being the first time Bree, Daniel, and Jonas were all together in three consecutive videos was neat, but then I thought, what if they keep appearing together for a while? Are we going to note on the next one that it's the first time for four, then the first time for five, etc.? It's hard to say what's a notable "first". Do people think this should be kept or tossed? --Brucker 16:14, 21 February 2007 (CST)
