Transcript
(Intro sequence with Reed making faces and the screen changing color. The words "Reed's Rules" appear on the sides of the screen. Cut to Reed running to the camera.)
Reed: I hate pants! Hate! Hate! Don't like- Hate! Pants!
Not like jeans; like pants pants. Dockers, khakis, you know what I'm talking about? No way. (Cut to various angles of Reed's khakis.) I feel so (Reed jumps away from the camera.) uncomfortable in them! (Cut to Reed fast-motion walking around the loft.) I feel like I'm going to, like, a family dinner at my grandma's house. Or I'm going to the yacht club for, like, a night of sailing on the cape. (Cut to Reed walking with the camera. He mocks holding a pipe.)
(Cut to Reed standing in front of the camera in khakis.)
Hi, I'm Eugene. (Extends his hand to the camera.) Eugene Tight Pants. Do you like my pants?
(Cut to Reed walking with the camera.)
They're so hard to break in. Like, with jeans, you just wear 'em a couple of they get stretched out; they're loose and they're comfortable. Just like a second skin. There you go. But with pants pants, they get irritating - more and more irritating - over time. You throw them in the wash, they shrink, and then they start to fade, and then they get scruffy and suddenly they're no longer your nice pants pants anymore. (Cut to Reed wearing a button-up shirt and khakis, sitting in a spinning chair.) Breaking pants in his like how jeans get character. Pants pants have no character! (Cut to Reed wearing a button-up shirt and khakis sitting on a couch.) Exhibit A, they blend into waiting room sofas. Lame!
So, in short, look alive people. Wear your jeans, burn your pants. (Reed lights a match.) Well, don't actually burn them, though. You could - you could burn your house down. Just throw them in the garbage. Throw them in the garbage! Throw them in the garbage!
