The Invitation is the two-hundred fifty-eighth webisode in the KateModern video series. It is also the one-hundred third video of season two.

Transcript

(A swan is seen swimming in a lake, with "RUPERT VAN HELDEN" overlayed. Cut to another swan swimming, with "JULIA COWAN" overlayed. Cut to the two swans swimming together with "CORDIALLY INVITE YOU TO THEIR" overlayed. Cut to Rupert and Julia holding hands, with "BOND OF ETERNAL UNITY" overlayed. Cut to Julia kissing Rupert on the cheek, with "SATURDAY 17th MAY 2008 overlayed. Cut to flowers with "380 OLD ST LONDON EC1V 9LT 14:00" overlayed. Cut to Julia and Rupert walking in a park, holding hands. Cut to them sitting on a park bench, looking at one another. Cut to a fountain in the lake. The camera pans out to Rupert and Julia who are standing nearby.)

Rupert: My love knows no depth, no breadth, no distance, yet all I have to give is volume. Of course, you'll recognise those words from my first book. When I wrote "Finding the One", I never imagined that I would experience the joys of Chapter 14 so soon. (Kisses Julia on the forehead and the camera switches angles.) And now we're ready to share that joy with each other. And with the rest of the world. Whether it be on Bebo or the Hymn of One, we want you to come and join us in the Ceremony for our Bond of Eternal Unity this Saturday.

(Rupert smiles at Julia and she looks blankly at the camera. Cut to Rupert and Julia walking hand-in-hand through the woods.)

We have come so far, with troubles and tests sent to try us through the tragedy of close friends, the turbulence of violence, and visitors from afar. But now it's time for all of us to put aside our differences once and for all.

(As Julia and Rupert walk, the words "DESTINY", "ENERGY", and "COMMITMENT". A rotating pan cuts to Rupert and Julia walking elsewhere.)

Our union will mark a day for us all to start on a new path. Now, unlike a wedding, this is unbreakable. And I cannot explain to you how important it is that we have finally found the one. Now, my fellow Hymn of One members have graciously accepted my love for Julia. Now, we look forward to the love and support of all of our friends. Gavin, Charlie, Meryl, Lee. Anyone that Julia has touched in her work or life are welcome.

Also, you are welcome. Anyone can attend. We invite your acceptance, and directions to the ceremony can be found on Julia's Bebo page.
