Daniel's grandma

Daniel's grandma, first mentioned in Comfort Food, was a stabilizing force in Daniel's life while his alcoholic parents neglected him. He would spend a lot of time at her house, during which she took him to her bridge games. She had a regular game going until her fellow players realized that she was a hustler.

She enjoyed making ham and butter sandwiches with Daniel.

She died from a stroke when Daniel was 16. He did not take the news very well.
