The Last Work: 3PM is the three-hundred third webisode in the KateModern video series. It is also the one-hundred forty-eighth video of season two.

Transcript

Joseph: Where we going now, Gavin?

Gavin: Right, right... Jose-- Stop, stop, stop. Look, um, I have to go and do something and you can't come with me, so...

Joseph: W-?

Gavin: (Sighs.) Right, look. (Sets the file folder from Grinstead down.) So I'm gonna go over there (Points to the left.), yeah? And you are gonna go over there! (Points to a tree.) Yeah?

Joseph: U-uh, yeah, o-okay.

Gavin: Good! Good. Oh! Oh! What's this? What's this? Oh, look! (Reaches to the ground and lifts his hand, pretending to hold a stick.) It's a stick! Look at the stick!

Joseph: W-where?

Gavin: Look at it! Look at the stick! (Joseph giggles and Gavin mimes throwing a stick toward the tree.) Go! Fetch! Fetch the stick! (Joseph runs after the imaginary stick.) Good. (Picks up the file folder.) Thank Christ for that.

(Gavin turns the camera on himself as Joseph is heard running in the background. Gavin begins walking away.)

Gavin: You-you know, he-he's a sweet bloke, but he's few Budgies short of an aviary.

(Joseph pops up behind Gavin.)

Joseph: What's an aviary?

Gavin: Jesus Christ! (Sighs.) You scared the shit out of me.

Joseph: What?

Gavin: I thought you were going over there?

Joseph: Yeah- uh, yeah, but I-I for- I forgot the orders.

Gavin: What? The what? What are you going on about now?

Joseph: The orders. What orders do you have?

Gavin: Oh. No, it's not "the orders", i-it's "the Order".

Joseph: Oh. I-I-I'm in the Order!

Gavin: No, you're no-- (Sighs.) Right. Remember the bad guys I was telling you about? That's- that's the Order.

Joseph: Oh.

Gavin: Yeah, tha-that hospital we were in wasn't just a normal nuthouse, it's a- just a place for the Order to experiment on people they're not too keen on. And people they're very keen on.

Joseph: That's pretty cool, man.

Gavin: No. No, Jos- It's not cool, man. (Sighs.) Did you not think that place was a bit weird? (Joseph shrugs.) No, I'll bet you didn't.

(Gavin continues walking to a nearby path. Cut to Joseph walking on a path underneath a bridge.)

Joseph: So what's in that thing you took, Gavin?

Gavin: What, this? (Shows the file folder.) This, my friend, is they key to the greatest treasure of all.

Joseph: Why? What's in it?

Gavin: Well, not that much, actually, but it's got the address.

Joseph: (Laughs.) Address? U-uh, so what's the plan, then?

Gavin: Well, I've got to go here, and you... I don't know. We'll have to find the rest of those marbles that you've obviously lost.

Joseph: Marbles?

(Gavin turns to look at the file folder as a phone rings. Gavin stops and looks back to see Joseph answering a mobile.)

Joseph: Yeah. Situation's under control; he doesn't know anything.

Gavin: What?

Joseph: I'll bring him back. (Gets off the phone.) Hand it over, Gavin.

Gavin: W-what are you doing?

Joseph: Just give me the file and this will all be over a lot quicker.

(Running footsteps are heard from behind the camera and Joseph jumps. Gavin drops the camera and Terrence picks it up, showing Gavin rolling on the ground in pain.)

Joseph: Patient 12...

(Gavin backs away as Joseph moves toward Terrence. Terrence punches him in the gut and kicks him several times. The camera zooms on Gavin as he runs away and Terrence runs after him. Cut to Terrence chasing Gavin down an alleyway. Cut to Terrence chasing Gavin on a sidewalk. Cut to Terrence chasing Gavin near a restaurant. Terrence follows Gavin into an underground station. Cut to Gavin running down an escalator going upwards. Gavin runs onto a train and Terrence catches up with him in time to see the doors close. Gavin waves and leans back as the train pulls out of the station. Terrence watches the train leave and turns the camera on himself, laughing.)

Terrence: He's a jumpy little feller, isn't he? I only wanted to say "thank you" for getting that thing off my head. Well, I'll catch up with him soon enough.
