Transcript

(Kate is in her flat)

Kate: Just when I thought this was gonna be another one of those weeks, I got some really exciting news. I've been asked to exhibit my art videos in a new showcase curated by my favorite artist, Michelle Clore. (Shows a picture, presumably by Michelle) I've been a fan of hers for years and this is a huge honor to me. So, the show's on Saturday, the 22nd of September, and I want you all to be there.

Tariq: (On Kate's porch) This is unbelievable.

Kate: I told you.

Tariq: I thought you were imagining it. (Zooms in to show a Watcher standing in front of a van) He's looking right up here! This ain't right. (Tariq closes and locks door)

Kate: Thanks to everyone who found the hidden message on the pizza answering machine. This confirms that the specialist is alive, but somehow I don't think our friend outside has anything to do with him.

Tariq: (On computer) The guy outside... I think he's a watcher.

Kate: A what?

Tariq: Look, (shows an MSN search page and the Hymn of One web page on Tariq's computer) the hired goons that the Hymn of One employ to observe and protect trait positive girls.

Kate: Protect me? The least he could do is come upstairs and introduce himself.

Tariq: This isn't a joke. These people are dangerous. Look, I'm gonna go and have a look, all right? (Tariq gets up and starts to walk to the door)

Kate: Tariq! Wait a minute! (Grabs Tariq's shirt)

Tariq: This isn't right!

Kate: Well Tariq - stop doing this knight in shining armor, punch first and act later bullshit!

Tariq: (Stops walking) I'm just trying to help.

Kate: Well maybe let me help myself for once. (Tariq starts walking towards the door again) Tariq!

Tariq: What're you gonna do? Go out there with your frying pan? (Unlocks door and sees pizza man in motorcycle helmet standing outside) We didn't order any pizza, man.

Dudley: (Takes off helmet) The man outside in the van, he's here in case me and my father try and make contact with you. (Gives Tariq a small pizza box) My father wants to meet you, wants to answer some of your questions. Decode that for the time and the place.

Kate: What, wait, oi! Where are you going? What was that all about? (Opens the pizza box and finds a white CD) Now we're getting somewhere. (Kate picks up the CD and walks away) Let's go put this on. Shut the door.

Notes

  • Kate posted the picture from the CD on her Bebo account.
  • The title "Who Watches The Watcher?" is a take on the tagline "Who Watches The Watchmen?" taken from the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons series "The Watchmen", which was published by DC Comics from 1986-1987.
