Categories

Does anyone know how to suppress the categorization of this page by the built-in template codes?--Brucker 12:45, 17 January 2007 (CST)

Judging from pages like this one over at the main site there's no way to do it. (Except, I guess, for copying the syntax, instead of actually using the templates).--JayHenry 13:17, 17 January 2007 (CST)

Hmm, I know there are some on Wikipedia that use a complicated bit of syntax to make it work (adding a special flag, I think) but I'm not sure I want to bother with the extra work. --Brucker 15:19, 17 January 2007 (CST)

I asked at Wikipedia's help desk. We'll see if it's simple or super complicated. And, worse case, it wouldn't take that long to copy the syntax of the small handful of templates that have categories embedded.--JayHenry 15:45, 17 January 2007 (CST)

The idea that I saw was that, say you add one more variable, we'll call it "cat", and then if cat = no, then the category is left off, see? Something like that, anyway. --Brucker 15:53, 17 January 2007 (CST)
