Bree and Gemma both mention living on a commune as part of their religious upbringing. In Mysteries of My Past... REVEALED! Bree says that she lived on a small commune in New Zealand. Gemma mentions living in a commune in Nottinghamshire where she and Bree met.
Members of a commune typically pool resources, sharing income and most possessions. Some, but not all, communes are based around a shared religious tradition, as is evidently the case with Bree's communes. Other communes are based around shared cultural or political beliefs.
Mesh Flinders grew up on a commune in Sonoma County in California.
