Transcript

Voice: The fountain of youth is real, and it's in the blood of dozens of girls across the world. Their secret is known by few, yet desired by all. They are pawns in the most dangerous of games. We are the Resistance. Our mission is to find these girls, and protect them from those who want to use them, and destroy them. And we document what happens to them, so that their stories live on. This is the story of one of those girls. We are the Resistance. We will not be stopped.

(Static effect to a picture of the LG15: The Resistance logo. Static effect to a clip heart monitor showing a flat line with flat line alarm. Close up of the doctor talking. Cut to Maggie lying on a bed eyes closed.)

Maggie: And so it goes. The end of the suffering. The eternal embrace of peace at the end of a lifetime of suffering. But it was not to be.

(Doctor shocks Maggie with a defibrillator. Static effect and change to Jonas. Clip is labeled "Monday, November 17, 2008, Jonas." )

Jonas: Sarah and Reed left already. I didn't want to do it. Separating the group. Splitting up, I didn't want to do it. But by separating, by getting myself away from them, its just the safest thing to do. Look, I-I don't even know if I'm going to be able to get on to a plane. And time is running out. We gotta get to LA And the FBI are close. And you better believe that the security checks at Logan are going to be no joke, but thanks to Maggie your tracks have been covered up pretty well so far. I feel bad that I ever doubted her. Its hard to remember how to be normal. Especially towards new people. Especially when you just-

(Someone knocks at the door)

Jonas: Hello?

Maggie: Hey.

Jonas: Hey.

Maggie: Am I interrupting?

Jonas: No, I was just...venting.

Maggie: Hey, its okay, you can leave it on. I'm used to it.

(Maggie sits down on bed)

Jonas: You sure?

Maggie: Yeah. I'm getting used to a lot of things now, actually. This...us...people...friends...

Jonas: What, you're...you're afraid?

(Maggie nods)

Jonas: Listen, you just...you gotta have faith. Were not going to leave you. Its only two days, nothing is going to change in that time. I am not going anywhere that you're not going. (Holds Maggie's hand) No matter what happens, you're going to be just fine. You're going to be safe. I promise you. Okay?

(Maggie nods and looks down)

Maggie: Okay. (smiles) I'm ready to go now.

(Maggie stands up and starts to walk away. She and Jonas slowly unclasp hands. Static effect and return to clip heart monitor showing a flat line. A doctor is trying to revive Maggie with a defibrillator.)

Doctor: (subtitle) Clear.

(Doctor shocks Maggie again.)

Doctor: (subtitle) Alderman will have my ass if we lose this girl. Clear.

(Cut to security footage showing a black van driving by.)

LB2: LB1 we have a car approaching the front gate.

(Cut back to doctor shocking Maggie .)

Doctor: (subtitle) Clear.

LB1: Copy LB2, we have a situation in the testing room, over.

Doctor: (subtitle) Clear.

LB2: Tech 1 vehicle is not slowing.

(Cut to security footage showing a black van again.)

(Cut back to doctor shocking Maggie .)

Doctor: (subtitle) Clear.

LB1: Tech 2, come in.

Doctor: (subtitle) Keep charging.

LB2: Jesus Christ. It's the car, it's coming right for.

(Crashing sounds can be heard through security radio.)

Nurse: (subtitle) Do you want to call it?

LB1: On the way tech 2 repeat tech 1 is on the way.

(Heart monitor starts to show a heart beat.)

Doctor: (subtitle) Alright. Thank god.

(Static effect and change to Reed. Clip is labeled Wednesday, November 19 2008, ReedABook.)

Reed: This is me. This is me in Los Angeles! LA, baby! I have got 24 hours in the city that never sleeps. Venice! Or is that New York? But anyway, Jonas and Co. are on their way over here and we're all going to meet up tomorrow. We're going to get all Veronica Mars by way of Sydney Bristow. But for now, that means that I am going to rock my temporarily-free-of-stalking-cold-goons-ass off. I always knew I'd end up in LA one day. I just thought, you know, it would be my choice. Things I love about LA: Yoga. Everybody has pit bulls here. I don't understand what that's about. Pigeons! Oh, I'm going to get pooped on.

(Cut to Reed rapping with an African-American man and imitating a lifeguard.)

Reed: The beach is that way. This is the life, man. Look! It's a film set. Hollywood!

(Cut to shots of the Walk of Fame and Grumman's Chinese Theater. Shot of the Hollywood sign.)

Reed: There it is. The world-famous Hollywood sign. Legend has it that many an actor has thrown himself off of those very letters because they couldn't make it in Tinseltown.

(Reed shudders. The camera pans to the Walk of Fame and zooms in on a blank star.)

Reed: This is it. This is it right here. My name's going to be on there, right there. Reed Barnes. The Boulevard is...interesting. Where my creepy Superman at? Where my creepy Superman at?

(Cut to Reed on the beach relaxing in a folding chair.)

Reed: Ahhh. I totally feel like Sarah right now. It's true what they say. The weather outside is delightful but you can never be too careful. So I'm playing it safe. Right? Until tomorrow, homies!

(Static effect and return to clip of Maggie and the doctor.)

Doctor: (subtitle) ...Check her vitals. Let's get an IV going.

(Doctor checks Maggie's pupils and pulse. Cut to clip of an orderly running down a corridor . Another man in a lab coat runs past. Cut to a man wearing a torn vest with a gun searching the corridors. Return to room with Maggie and doctor. Gun shots are heard and doctor and nurse are alarmed. )

Doctor: (subtitle) What the hell? What have we got out there?

(Cut to Orderly who is putting up his hands to surrender and is shot in the stomach. Man in vest seen running down another corridor. Another gunshot is heard and the man falls down. Cut back to doctor and Maggie.)

Doctor: (subtitle) Gimme that wheelchair over there. We've got to get her out.

(Static effect and change to Reed. Clip is labeled Thursday, November 20 2008, ReedABook.)

(Reed walking through park, seemingly searching.)

Reed: (in clear distress) They're not here. Jonas, Sarah, Maggie, I-I turned this place inside out and I can't find them anywhere. I mean, I don't know LA all that well, but I'm pretty sure this is where Jonas said to meet. I google mapped and everything and (sighs) it's been, like, an hour. Longer I think. I tried their cell phones already, I know I wasn't supposed to but this was an emergency so... scratch that, this is an emergency! Guys if you're out there, call me or at least email me, let me know you're okay. This was a bad ideas. (Reed's cell phone rings, he answers it and sits down on a park bench.) Yeah? (Pause.) I'm here! (Short pause, Reed looks around.) What do you mean where? I'm here. Where are you guys? (Pause.) Oh, man. Oh, okay jus-just hang on. I'm gonna come get you. (Gets up and starts walking away.) Okay, okay, yeah I'm gonna come get you. (Pause.) Alright. (Closes phone and begins to run, then realizes he forgot his camera and runs back to get it. End scene.)

(Static effect and change to cars moving down a highway, the sky turns from blue to red Clip is labeled Friday, November 21 2008, Hymn of None.)

Automated Message: You are receiving a call from the LA City Jail Van Nuys Station from...

Jonas: Jonas Wharton.

Automated Message: To accept this call please press one. To decline press two.

(A long beep is heard. Scenes from previous blogs containing Maggie and Jonas play throughout Jonas and Maggie's dialogue, they are tinted red.)

Jonas: Maggie? It's, uh, it's me. Uh, I need you to come bail me out.

Voice: He lied to me. The handsome knight lied to me. He swore an oath, a promise to not mislead and instead he did this. (Camera zooms into Reed, Jonas and Sarah exiting building. Reed begins to argue with Sarah.) Jonas and Sarah, they made a play for LifesBlood Labs without us. They tried to break into the Labs and got themselves arrested. Reed bailed them out yesterday afternoon. (Jonas and Reed arguing, this escalates into a fight. Sarah storms off.) This is not how a leader behaves. A leader shows strength, faith, trust and planning but instead you decide to sneak around behind our backs. Perhaps my judgment is clouded, that will no longer be a problem. (Reed punches Jonas and leaves him sprawling on the ground, exits.) We have a mission and lives depend on us, it's time you remembered that. I need some time. I'll continue to help you from a distance. Please do not try to find me.

(Jonas, after standing up and brushing himself off, stares across the street seemingly directly into the camera. Maggie ducks behind something. Fade to black.)

(Static effect and return to clip of Maggie and the doctor.)

Doctor: (subtitle) Let's go! Now!

(Nurse rushes out of the room. The doctor picks up Maggie and puts her in a wheelchair. He calls out the door.)

Doctor: (subtitle) You! You there. You need to get 212 back to her room. Right now!

(The doctor leaves the room. A man ties up the back of Maggie's gown and brushes her hair back. Cut to the doctor in the hallway. There is a gunshot sound and he cowers. A man in all black starts to wheel away Maggie. He wheels her down the corridor. As he comes closer to the security camera he looks up and it is Beaumont. Static effect to a picture of the LG15: The Resistance logo.)
