Transcript

(Tariq is searching for "jobs in london". There is a montage of various sites that list openings.)

Tariq: Gainful employment, here we come. (Cut to Tariq standing in his flat, outside of the bathroom.) The business is over, G&T IT are no more... Maybe this is the wakeup call I needed. Maybe Project Orwell was always gonna land us in trouble and I should be glad I'm not in jail. Or in the stomach of one of Terrence's man-eating pigs. Huh. I'm not gonna let this beat me. You ain't seeing me breaking any furniture; that'd be too easy. (The toilet flushing can be heard in the background.) I've got a lot to be happy for right now. (Julia opens the door to the bathroom and sticks her head out, smiling. Tariq acknowledges her and turns back to the camera.) As I was saying... (To Julia.) Are you still here? I thought you might have escaped out the window.

Julia: I just wanted to ask if I could leave these here. (Holds up a box of Tampax. Tariq looks incredulously at the camera.) Oh, come on. I'm not asking to move in. They're small; they're compact...

Tariq: Alright, no problem...

Julia: Thank you.

(Julia smiles and goes back into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.)

Tariq: Uh, wasn't she ready? We were going to be at this party twenty minutes ago. God! Women, huh? Small box of Tampax today, tomorrow who knows? (Rolls his eyes. Julia quietly cracks the door behind him.) Maybe I shouldn't be so afraid of commitment. Julia's about the one thing I've got going for me right now. (Julia smiles and shuts the door again. Tariq looks back to see if she's done yet.) And she's not even ready still. Bloody hell. Come on, hurry up! Please?

Julia: (Opening the door.) Okay, ready. Let's go. (Julia walks past Tariq and grabs her coat. The camera pans down to look at her mini skirt.) What you looking at?

(Julia wags her finger at Tariq, who denies he was looking at her.)

Tariq: It- I'm not really... Are you sure you should be wearing white?

Julia: Honey, don't be old-fashioned. Come on. (Puts on her coat. Cut to Tariq looking at Julia's skirt again.) Baby, you worry too much. Now come on, let me cheer you up. No more moodiness, yeah? (Julia opens the door to the flat. Patricia is waiting outside.) Hi, can I help you?

Patricia: I'm sorry to disturb you; I'm looking for a... Tariq Bhartti?

(Julia steps outside.)

Tariq: (Clears his throat.) Never heard of him.

Patricia: (Smiling.) Well, if you do remember him, let me know. (Hands her card to Julia.) I'm willing to pay for the interviews I need.

Tariq: Like I said, I think you've got a wrong address.

(Patricia nods and walks off.)

Julia: Uh, what was that about?

Tariq: It's just trouble we don't need.

(Tariq walks out of his flat and slams the door behind himself.)
