Dwayne moved from New York City, New York to Venice Beach, California in 2001 in order to pursue a career in screenwriting. While still in New York, he wrote a screenplay called Dead Already, which he credits as having been his big break in writing professionally. After reading the screenplay, Lawerence Mattis of Circle of Confusion agreed to become his manager. This screenplay would later be adapted into a magna series of the same name .
In 2002, his screenplay Zillion was picked up by Pandemonium Films . He also wrote a movie called Joe's Last Chance, which is currently in production as of January 2008.
To relax, Dwayne often plays poker or goes to the movies. He says that most of the time his mind is consumed with writing, but these activities totally take his mind off of his work.
Dwayne would advise any aspiring writers out there to "read a lot."
